Emberfall
A downloadable game
Visually, Emberfall uses a fully low poly art style with carefully chosen color palettes instead of traditional textures. Every asset in the game is handmade from scratch using Blender, with an emphasis on clean shapes, readable forms, and lighting that supports the mood of the world.
The game world is designed to be small to medium in size, but dense and meaningful. Rather than endless empty terrain, Emberfall focuses on forests, valleys, rivers, and natural points of interest that encourage exploration and interaction. Every area is built with intention, so moving through the world always feels purposeful.
Survival mechanics are designed to be approachable and relaxing, while still feeling rewarding. Gathering resources, interacting with the environment, and slowly expanding your capabilities form the core gameplay loop. Realistic elements are included where they add immersion, but unnecessary realism that would slow the game down is intentionally avoided.
Planned features include:
- Low poly survival gameplay focused on atmosphere and exploration
- Resource gathering such as wood, stone, and metal
- Crafting systems that grow in complexity over time
- Base building and environmental interaction
- Tools and weapons, starting simple and becoming more advanced
- Wildlife and animals that can be hunted for resources
- Cooking and basic survival needs
- Dynamic weather and seasonal changes
- A day and night cycle that affects the world
- A small but dense open world designed for discovery
- Fully handmade assets created specifically for the project (Blender + Unity)
I'm developing Emberfall alongside learning and improving as a developer, and I want to share the entire journey openly - including experiments, challenges, and gradual progress.
This page serves as the main development hub for Emberfall. I regularly share devlogs, progress updates, and playable builds as development continues, showing both successes and challenges along the way.
Emberfall is a long-term solo project, built step by step, with the goal of creating a survival experience that feels personal, atmospheric, and enjoyable to return to.
